1. In the Android app
- Open the Home tab and tap Account.
- Open Data & privacy.
- Tap Delete account… and type your account email to confirm.
The account is deleted immediately and you are signed out.
2. On the web
Sign in at wavestripe.app, open Account → Data & privacy and choose Delete account…. You can also Download my data there first.
3. Without signing in
Send a request through our contact form (topic “Privacy / GDPR / data request”). Give the email address of your account. We confirm by replying to that address, so only its owner can have the account deleted, and we complete the deletion within 30 days (usually within 2 business days).
4. What is deleted
- Your email address and password — the account is replaced by an anonymous placeholder and can no longer sign in.
- Your garage: the list of cars (VINs) and their labels, and the claim on each car, so a sold car is free for its next owner.
- A Better Routeplanner links: your ABRP token, your sharing settings and every paired car sender.
- Your server-side phone key for the car. Signing out or initiating deletion in the Android app clears that phone’s cached key and disables its climate schedule. An offline phone cannot immediately learn about deletion performed elsewhere; sign out on each phone or clear its app storage to remove its local key and settings.
- Your AI usage counters and any pending messages from support.
- Billing identifiers stored with us. A subscription billed by card is cancelled at the same time. A subscription bought through Apple must be cancelled in your Apple ID settings.
Assistant conversations are stored only on your device; clear them with “Clear thread” in the assistant, or by clearing the app’s or browser’s site data.
5. What is kept, and for how long
- Audit log of actions sent to cars (which module, which action, the result) — kept with the VIN removed and no email, for up to 365 days from the action, then deleted.
- Diagnostic run reports (whether a routine succeeded, error codes) — kept with the email and VIN removed, until they rotate out of a log that holds only the most recent 5,000 runs across all users.
- Former-subscriber marker — if you had a paid subscription, a one-way hash of your email and of your cars’ VINs, so a returning subscriber is offered the right plan. It can’t be turned back into the email or VIN.
- Payment and invoice records held by our payment processor, Stripe — up to 10 years, as tax law requires.
- Reports you made about AI answers — at most 365 days.
- Server logs (IP address, user agent) — typically up to 30 days.
